Play, repeat, and scramble music





From the Now Playing screen, you can play music, repeat, and shuffle songs, and more.

On iPhone, iPad,
iPod touch, or Android phone
On a Mac or PC

At Apple Watch

Opening Medium Playing on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android phone
When playing music on your iOS device or Android phone, a player will appear at the bottom or bottom right corner of the screen. Tap the music player to open Now playing. From the Now Playing screen, you can control playback or volume, enable randomization or repetition, download songs, and more.



     

Shuffle songs
Open the Now Playing screen and scroll down.

Tap to set Music to always randomize a list of selected songs. Albums, playlists, or tracks will play in random order.

If random is on, you will see. To turn it off, tap the button until it appears.

Repeating the song
Open the Now Playing screen and scroll down.

Tap once to enable repeat for entire playlist or album. Tap again to enable repeat for one song. Tap a third time to delete the loop.

If repeat is on, you will see or. To turn it off, tap the button until it appears.

More options
In the Random and Repeat button in Now playing, you'll find Song Lyrics and a playlist to play Next. To reset Next, drag the song with the move icon to rearrange the sequence, or swipe left to delete the song you want to skip. If you do not see the move icon, disable it repeat.



Control music on a Mac or PC


When playing music in iTunes on a Mac or PC, you can set it on top of the iTunes window. From there, you can play back, pause, or speed up songs, adjust song volume, share songs, use AirPlay to stream songs, and more.

Shuffle songs
Click to enable tracking of songs in playlists or albums. When scrambling is on, you will see.

Repeating the song
Click after enabling randomization for all playlists or albums. Click again to enable repeat for one song. Third click to delete the loop.

Opening Music at Apple Watch
When you play music in the Music app on Apple Watch Series 3, you can control it from Recently Played or Music app. You need AirPods or Bluetooth headphones to listen to music through Apple Watch. Use Dock to open the Music app to control randomization and repetition.

From the Music app, you can play songs, turn Digital Crown to control song volume, enable randomization, set repetitions, and more.

Open the Music app, then select the playlist, artist, or album you want to play. From the playback screen, tap.
